How a Two-Plant Manufacturer Recovered From Ransomware in Just Over Four Hours
Backup and DR · Light manufacturing · 2 plants
- Restore time 4 hours 10 minutes
- Data loss under 15 minutes
- Ransom paid: $0
The situation
A ransomware event hit the manufacturer's environment.
What we did
Immutable offsite copies and a rehearsed recovery runbook were already in place, so the team restored systems from clean backups.
The results
Production came back the same shift. Full restore took 4 hours 10 minutes, less than 15 minutes of data was lost, no ransom was paid and no data had to be reconstructed by hand.
