The Netherlands applies the GDPR alongside its implementation act (the UAVG), supervised by the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. NIS2 extends cybersecurity duties to more organisations, and the Netherlands is implementing it through its Cybersecurity Act (Cyberbeveiligingswet).
Larger Dutch employers have a works council (ondernemingsraad), which generally has a say before systems that can monitor staff are introduced. Involve HR and legal advisers before rolling out monitoring or logging tools that could track individuals.
